The Underground Girls of Kabul

I enjoyed reading this book. I think we take a lot of granted here in the United States. It is hard for me to relate to a culture where being a girl is not valued and where mothers will dress their girls as boys. I find it sad to think that women are so devalued. Still the inner strength those women have to find ways to survive and thrive in such an oppressive culture is amazing. This was a wonderful read. I think it is important to read books that give us insights into other cultures so we can have a better understanding. Truly a fascinating book.
