science

We had a wonderful experience doing Physics Quest. It was our first time doing this and it was wonderful --- mostly because we had two moms in our group that love science and understand it well. They led our group and did a great job. Physics Quest is a contest. They send a box of science supplies and a workbook. The kids had to work through 4 experiments. Afterward, as a class we submit our answers. The classes that have the correct answers go into a drawing for iPods for the class. The kids hope so much that they win. Wouldn't that be awesome!!!

The experiments were lots of fun. We met once a month for 4 months. Results need to be entered by May 8th. So we won't know if we win for awhile.

Here is a link to physics quest.

Oh that does sound like fun! I wish we had more in our group so we could do something like that.

We actually did this with just 5 families - about 14 kids. It was a nice size without being overwhelming. And we were very blessed to have two moms that love science and understand it very well. I am more the organization type. I found the project, ordered the kits, solicited for participants, booked the rooms and made copies of the worksheets. Teaching the concepts is not my strength. Our group was really blessed to have moms with different strengths and it worked very well.
