I do like Claire Cook's books but I also read Kristin Hannah --- and in comparison Kristin just writes with a great depth and her characters are less flat - have more depth to them.
Still, Clarie's books are good - but more lighthearted type of reading. This one is funny in parts. Ginger is 41 years old and has moved back home to live in the furnished room over the garage. She has no real direction and is trying to find her way. She is single but dating a guy that seems kind of distant. My only thoughts were that I was rooting for her to pick the other guy.
Claire seems to pick a moment in time and write about the character -- but you don't really get a sense that anything was resolved, that the character learned anything, etc.
