Picasso

Our local university has classes at their art museum on Picasso. It was really inspiring. I have to say that I developed a new appreciation for him. He hadn't really been one of my favorites but honestly after studying him and learning more about his works - I really find him more interesting. The program had three parts --- first we had a PowerPoint presentation on Picasso. Then we broke up into two groups - a younger aged group and an older aged group. The older kids went on a tour of the museum and the younger kids got to try their hand at creating a work of art using some of Picasso's techniques. Then we switched and the older kids made their art work while the younger ones toured the museum.

Overall, I have to say that it was really a very, very good program. We were very thrilled to take part in it and amazingly it was all FREE! Paid for by the university. Isn't that awesome. It is part of their outreach program and they go into schools in the area. They tailored the program to work for us homeschoolers and did it on site for us. Isn't that wonderful! We were thrilled.
