Well Tom is definitely feeling better. At the beginning of the week, he was really grumpy (sorry honey but you were!). Some of our wonderful friends from our bible study came over Tuesday night. Bill came to visit with Tom and Lori helped drive the kids to and from swimming lessons. (I had to work at the ballpark that night.) While the purpose of the visit was so the kids would have a ride to swimming - the end result was that Tom had time to visit with Bill. And that visit so lifted his spirits. (Thank you so much Bill and Lori! You guys rock!) It was just what Tom needed. Some guy time! They watched the ballgame, hung out and just talked guy talk.
Then the following day, another guy, Tony, from our bible study stopped by - and spent time visiting with Tom. And again - having that guy time was so wonderful. It just lifted his spirits so much.
I simply can't thank them all enough but those guy visits were EXACTLY what Tom needed --- his whole sour attitude really did a 180! It was amazing. Grumpy gus is gone! I think that Tom was getting stir crazy and having visitors just gave him so adult time - helped his mind to be active and just lifted his whole spirit.
Tom has decided that he needs to get out in small doses so he is 'ready' to go back to work once he is given the okay from the doctor. Tonight he went with the boys to scouts. I dropped all the kids and Tom off. And now I am having some alone time. It has been a crazy week so the alone time is fabulous. I needed to not be chattered at for just a moment! To not be needed for just a moment. Ahhhhhhhh - it is a small slice of heaven!
